Emilia Gonzalez Dorantes will be performing new works for cello on Music in Motion’s pop-up concert series, including a work by Victor Gischler. The concert is scheduled for 12:30 on Friday in the lobby of the LSU Library.

The first place winner and two runner ups in the 3rd annual Graphic Score Competition will have their pieces performed in the lobby of the LSU Library. This ensemble will consist of LSU musicians affiliated with Music in Motion, a collective dedicated to new music in Louisiana

“But Still He felt a Certain Dread” for electric guitar, piano and drum set will be premiered on Ahmed Karam’s concert February 8th. The piece should flow unlike any of Victor Gischler’s previous works.

An ensemble created and consisting of Peabody students, the “Old Bay New Music Ensemble” Will be premiering a new work for sinfonietta written by Victor Gischler. The piece, Howl at the Moon, will be featured amongst a program of premieres by other composition students at Peabody.
